Water is a tightly controlled and highly regulated commodity – especially in the arid Southwest where constraints on water supply are most severe. Permitting requirements are pervasive, affecting nearly every aspect of water resources development. Fortunately, SGC hydrogeologists are well-versed in Arizona’s 1980 Groundwater Management Act (Code), Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR) rules and regulations, and the technical and administrative requirements of the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) Aquifer Protection Permit (APP) program.
SGC is well known at ADWR and ADEQ for the projects we have collaborated on and for the many permits, forms, and applications we have filed for: Certificates of Assured Water Supply (CAWS), Assured and Adequate Water Supply (AAWS), Designations of Assured Water Supply (DAWS), Physical Availability Determinations (PAD), Underground Storage Facility (USF), Water Storage (WS), and Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES). Over the years, SGC hydrogeologists have developed strong professional working relationships with key state regulators who are typically involved in our projects. These relationships, based upon technical respect and integrity, have proven to be very beneficial during the negotiation of complex permits.
